Why the word "Om"?

The Indians believe in the power of chanting the sacred word OM since the dawn of time.
Om has a very deep meaning.
The ancient mantra, or traditional vibration, chanted at the beginning and end of yoga sessions, allows for a better connection with the practice of rhythmic breathing and physical postures.

The sound OM is the Word which is at the origin of all that is born, lives and dies to be reborn again, to live and to die.

1. You are a real miracle
We are all born with sleep weight to intentionally direct our consciousness.
The power is within us, and the sound of Om helps us to discover it.

2. Om is the vibration of creation
In the Hindu sacred texts called Upanishads, it is explicitly mentioned that “In the beginning there was a word and this word was Om. "

3. The first sound
Om is the first sound that was produced at the time of creation.
The explosion that took place at the time of creation is known as Sphota ’and through this act God shaped the Universe. Chandogya Upanishad says that Om is Bhrahma, the timeless consciousness.

4. According to ancient texts
In the Rigveda, the mantra Vamadeva Rishi describes Om as a transcendent Vishvateeth.
He calls Om Samudra (sea), Aparimita (endless), Rooprahita (formless), Sarvavyapi (omniscient). In the Mandukya Upnishad, Om is defined as Bramha.
The Patanjali Yoga sutra calls OM as “Ishwara pranidhana,” which means reaching out to God with devotion.
When you meditate on the sacred sound of Om, you can grasp the drifting spirit and all conflicts will disappear.
In the Namokaar mantra of Jainism, Om holds a vital place as the deliverer from all sins.

5. Om in Islam
In Islam, Om is called Samaa.
Samaa is the buzz that helps you seek spiritual connection with Allah.
In Sikhkhism, Omkaar is the only truth.
Om is auspicious and her song helps us achieve harmony.
So, OM is the transcendental reverberation that carries the magic that can free your mind from material conditioning.

6. Om music
Om is not a word but rather an intonation that transcends the limits of age, race and culture.
It is composed of three Sanskrit letters, aa, au and ma which, combined, create the sound Aum or Om.
Om contains all other sounds.
It is a mantra or a prayer in itself.
If repeated with the right intonation, it can resonate throughout the body and penetrate into the center of one's being, the atman or the soul.

7. Om's perspective
Om gives a dualistic perspective.
On the one hand, it projects the mind beyond the snapshot of what is intangible and indefinable.
On the other hand, it makes the absolute more substantial and inclusive.
It includes all possibilities and perspectives, that's all that was, is or can be.
Om is supreme and remains undefined, just like God.

8. Om in Tibetan Buddhism
Many ancient Tibetan yogis, like Milarepa, practice intense meditation and Om chanting.
In Tibetan Buddhism, the most popular mantra that contains Om is “Om mani padme hum”. Another powerful mantra is “Om ah hum”.
In this mantra Om represents the body, the syllable Ah represents speech, and Hum represents the spirit.

9. Om helps you breathe easier
Chanting the sacred sound of Om correctly can help us relax and control our breathing. As the exhalation is produced by a relaxation of the muscles of our respiratory system, the OM sound will not be emitted uniformly unless this relaxation is fully mastered.

Singing the sound of Om produces direct effects on the mind which are just as important as the effects it has on our body.
The abstract and complex meaning of the syllable OM enters our mind by intercepting the incessant flow of thoughts.

It helps reduce stress levels by bringing more oxygen to the body.
If you chant Om and meditate, not only will you relieve stress, but also lower blood pressure.

12. The scientific principle
The scientific principle behind Aum chanting relates to the genesis of sounds as mentioned in Sanskrit literature and the Hindi alphabet.
As we all know, the Hindi alphabet has vowels (swara) and consonants (Vyanjana).
The last consonant in each line is a nasal consonant.
Aum is a combination of a vowel with a nasal consonant.
The vowel here is "O" or "AU" and the nasal consonant is "M".

13. Om sound is an analgesic
Many researchers claim that vowel singing produces interleukin-2 in the body, which is similar in action to aspirin, un pain reliever.

14. Different ways of singing
Aum can be sung with the extended 'O', the extended 'M' or the 'O' and 'M' in equal cycles. When we sing 'O' we produce more pain relievers and when we sing 'M' we produce more tranquilizers.

15. The physics of sound Om
When we chant a mantra in a rhythmic tone with ups and downs, it creates a melodious effect in the body.
This effect can be defined as the neuro-linguistic effect.
Quantum Physics tells us that each state of matter has its own associated vibration and so does light.
And when a person sings with the sound of 'm', they tune in with the echoing cosmos.

16. The positive results of the Om sound
Singing the sacred sound of Om produces a vibration and sound that you feel in your vocal cords and sinuses.
This opens the pores, which in turn helps in the elimination of sinus problems gradually. Om sound also has a cardiovascular benefit which keeps blood pressure normal but without the side effects of medication.
